We offer opportunities to volunteers. You may wish to gain work experience in a legal/office environment – or you may like to give us the benefit of your experience. Whichever is the case, volunteering will give you an opportunity to contribute to the local community. You will be made very welcome and you will work in a friendly and supportive environment.

Reception and admin volunteers assist our staff in providing a friendly and efficient service to members of the public. Typical tasks involve greeting people who come into the Centre, answering incoming phone calls, booking appointments and helping with other administrative tasks such as filing, routine letters and inputting client information on the computer.

Volunteer advisers - You can make a big contribution to the local community by becoming a volunteer adviser. We will provide you with training and support you to develop the skills you need.  For this role, volunteers are normally expected to be available for 10 hours per week for a period of at least 1 year.  However, if you already have experience in this area a shorter time commitment is negotiable.

Fundraising volunteers help to bring in the resources that are essential to keep the centre open.  There are lots of ways you could help: organising fundraising events; approaching local businesses; writing to trusts and foundations; or you could work on more substantial funding proposals alongside the Centre Manager.

Events volunteers go out into the community to tell people about all the amazing things we do.  You might be running an activity at a community event, or talking to members of the public on one of our stalls and helping them to make an appointment at our centre.

Communications volunteers help us to get the right messages out to the right people.  This could be an ideal way to use your skills in writing, design, photography or illustration; or you may have experience with social media and be able to help us to improve our online presence.

Trustees help with the governance of our charity, making sure we uphold our high standards and have enough resources to keep going.  You may have local knowledge and be able to help us meet the needs of the community, or you may have specialist knowledge or management skills that will help in running the organisation.  Training can be provided if needed.

There are lots of ways you can contribute, so if you have a skill not mentioned above that could be of use to the centre, please do drop us a line and we'll try to work out a way for you to get involved!

Your guidance, help and kindness have been amazing.
